Heart and Lung Transplant success after 2.5 years
Weston has been suffering from an enlarged heart, a condition that has severely affected his lungs and other organs, leaving him out of
breath and so sick that his skin was that of a bluish pallor. He required a heart and lung transplant.
Julie and Adam Keeton almost lost hope after 2 1/2 years of waiting for an organ donor for their young boy. They started the battle for Weston’s survival in 2011 when he was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment of multiple heart defects. The couple, along with their five children, came from Tennessee to give their support to the young Weston, believing that the treatment procedure will only last a week and they would come home with new medications and the hopes for a higher chance of survival.
However, the bad news of his need for a heart and lung transplant sent Julie and Adam’s world spiraling down and with a growing family size, they just can’t afford to move in to Philadelphia and leave Adam’s work behind. But their long wait and strong faith in God were all worth it when they were given the good news that healthy organs are awaiting Weston for transplant. Since December 11, he has been recovering from some setbacks that came along with the surgery but all in all, he’s slowly becoming the healthy boy that he should’ve been 2 1/2 years ago.
